One Brick (www.onebrick.org) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides support to other local non-profit and community organizations by creating a unique, social and flexible volunteer environment for those interested in making a concrete difference in the community. This enables people to get involved, have an impact and have fun, without the requirements of individual long-term commitments.

When we finish each volunteer project, we gather as a group at a local bar or restaurant for food, drinks and the opportunity to continue to get to know each other. This helps to create a really fun social outlet as part of your volunteer experience.

?X The maximum players for each round is 20 (2 table), if more than 20, I will take ¡§first register, first serve¡¨ rule to decide who could play in each round.

Q & A
?X Why do we have 4 rounds?
Answer: This is to increase the excitement of the tournament. You can choose to participate in some games and get good scores, or just play every game and enjoy it.
?X Why do we have different places?
Answer: This is to minimize the home court advantage and disadvantage. Some people do have their home court advantage, and we hate to see that happens. On the other hand, mysteriously some people have their ¡§disadvantage¡¨ to play at home, and it is certainly avoided under this setting to alter places.
?X What does the winner get from each round?
Answer: Cash and points. The winner of each round gets 55% of half pot, and the 2nd and 3rd get 30% and 15% of half pot.
?X How many players will be playing?
Answer: Ideally I would like to recruit 10-15 players sign up. If we have more than 15 at the end, there will be 2 groups and some minor changes in the rules. More detail will be forwarded 3 days before the first round. Once the master list generated, no more players will be allowed to join.
?X How many players will be playing in a table each round?
Answer: Definitely equal or less than 10 players play in a table. If we have more than 10 players in a round, players will be randomly distributed to two groups and play until 10 players remained, and these 10 players will be playing in a table together. Blinds doesn¡¦t not affected by this setting.
?X Do I need to bring money to each round? How much should I prepare?
Answer: Yes, but only the participating fee to that round. If you play in every round, you need to have $160.
?X Do I need to play in each round?
Answer: No, you do not. Your points will be calculated after 4 rounds of competition. There is no reward to anyone who plays in every round and no punishment to absentee. However, the more rounds you play, the more chance you will get points and cash reward.

?X Do I need to have a nickname?
Answer: Yes, you do. Please name yourself a good one to represent you. For your reference, current ones used in those professional gamblers are East Express (Johnny Chan), Professor (Howard Ledger), Jesus (Chris Ferguson), Poison Ivey (Phil Ivey), and so on. .

?X Multi-way tie break rules for entering final table:
In any case two players finished with the same score, the rank will be decided by followings in order (starting from (1), then (2), (3)). Examples will be attached below.

1. Score divided by the number of players involved in those rounds this master has played. The lower ratio receives a higher rank.
EX:
Tom played in only a round, got 10 points from 5 players. Tom's ratio is 2.
Sylvia player in 2 rounds, got 10 points (5 from each round) competing with total of 20 ppl.
Sylvia's ratio is 0.25.
Sylvia receives higher rank than Tom does since she got it a lot harder.

2. Average of the ranks of each round divided by players involved. The lower ratio receives a higher rank.
EX:
Naomi didn't get any point. She finished 6th (with 12 players) and 6th (with 6 players). (6/12+6/6)/2=0.75
Jerry didn't get any point. He finished 10th (with 10 players) and 8th (with 12 players). (10/10+8/12)/2=0.875.
Naomi receives higher rank than Jerry does since her overall performance was better.

3. Heads-up matches. Competes against each other till the only one left.

Poker in Redwood City (redwood city)

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS.

I've had a great seven year run of WEDNESDAY and SATURDAY night poker (cash game never a rake) at my place and we're always looking for more players. The game is no limit Texas hold ?em, with one and two dollar blinds, most folks buy in for around $80.00 to $100.00 dollars. If you're looking for nice group of non-smoking, non-drinking, friendly poker playing folks, then send me a reply. Our player?s age range from the upper twenties up to the mid sixties and everywhere in-between. Now, a couple of things here, if you are the type of person that says things like hella and hecka, or what?s up dawg, then this might not be the right game for you. If you are also the type of person that screams and high fives everyone in the room and spills your beer when the raiders score, then please stay away. I should also mention that we are ONLY looking for people that can play on a regular basis hopefully NO LESS than a couple times a month and I would prefer people over the age of 23 (young kids tend to go all in constantly) and if you are coming over strictly to play cards and have no intentions of speaking to anyone please don't reply, you must have some kind of a personality, some people that show up are about as exciting as a parking meter. Great game for married couples and ladies, Wednesday?s game begins at seven and Saturday?s as well. We are located in the Emerald Hills, which is a little community located in the upper Redwood City hills, snacks and drinks are provided however you are welcome to bring whatever you like. I know it sounds like a lot of rules but that?s how we are able to keep the games going. Once again, PLEASE PLEASE, only reply if you plan to play on a regular basis, that is of coarse if you like the game here. Now, just so that I know you have read all the above, begin your reply to me by typing the words "Poker Dave"'

Thanks much folks

Weekly poker game has open seat for reg player (morgan hill)

A small group of guys who have been playing Thursday Night garage poker for years is looking for someone to fill an empty seat and help us keep the game alive.

We play "Dealer's Choice" games, as well as the occasional Hold 'Em or Omaha tournaments - but mostly we mix it up with some fun carny wild card games. Minimum buy-in is $20 (though you're encouraged to bring more) and we play 25 cent, 50 cent and $1 stakes. No one is coming to this game to win the rent money - we're just looking to get away from the rat race for a few hours once a week and have some fun. We usually start around 730-8 pm and call it quits at Midnight sharp (no earlier, no later). We rotate the game between two of our garages - one in Morgan Hill, one in South San Jose (Santa Teresa/Bernal area)

We're looking for someone who can make a commitment to the game by playing every week and sticking it out until Midnight. We're also looking for someone who is a "grown-up." Drinking at the game is fine - but we don't want to babysit a sloppy drunk. We're a 420-friendly table - but no hard core druggies. We check our politics at the door and usually have some classic rock music playing in the background. Poor sports and sore losers need not reply.

Right now, there are four regular players who are committed to the game - but we'd like to get at least one more person, maybe two...

Interested? Shoot me an email and let's talk...

San Jose Poker Group (san jose downtown)

San Jose Poker Group

We are a 24 year old married couple looking to form a group of poker with members withing our age who want to play for fun in the San Jose area at low staked tournaments (average $10 buy-in) and/or cash games ($0.25/$0.50 buy-ins can vary ). We can play No Limit Texas Holdem and switch up to other games including Pot Limit Omaha. We want it to be a fun and friendly atmosphere where we can meet new people. Would like to meet anywhere from 1 - 4 times a month on a Friday or Saturday night (depending on everyones schedules and holidays) and have a fun time.

Each event will have a set of house rules that will need to be followed. All members need to be respectful and follow the rules. We would follow the host house rules and if they are not met by a member, the member will be asked to leave and be removed from the group.

Depending on how many members join, there might be a small fee during an event to cover cost such as snacks, drinks, and host of the site. Will be discussed before an event.

Must be 21 or older to join the group.

Learn more and join this group at http://www.meetup.com/SanJosePokerGroup/.

Join us for poker have fun (Oak lawn, il)

*******************
Hey there! Basically our group of poker players (more then 53 players) is looking for more people to join us. This way we can have a consistent game on weekends or weekdays.

We typically place .50 / $1 blinds with a $20 buy in. Cash game. The cash at the end of the night usually hits $600+
We range in age from college kids to 30's and some 40's. We have males and females that play. All ages and both gents and ladies are welcome to join us.
Its a very friendly game. We have never had a fight or issue here.
We have 2 gorgeous poker tables to play on if we fill up.
**FREE BEER/drinks and food/pizza is offered at each game.
**We also have a "freeroll" tourney pot that we host at the end of the month ( usually 100-200$ )
**We will be offering many more events and raffles to keep the games lively also. ( plasma tv soon!) ( some guys have joked about a topless hostess or stripper lol, but we will see.)
A $100 buy in tourney with 20 people will be coming up shortly if your interested also!

If your interested, let me know what days you are available to play. We play on weekends and weekdays. We usually fill up spots quick when we play so first come first serve! we are trying to grow this to a big group for consistent play.

I will not just be inviting random strangers to the house either. So please reply with your phone number and preferably a facebook link /myspace/twitter so i can get a feel for who you are. I'll have to talk with you first also before the invite. We don't want thugs/ thieves/ bad attitude people here. We have fun every time we play, and its a great social event... We'd like to keep it that way.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
